Who we are

Vu AI Ltd, trading as Vu Agency, is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 15766790. Our registered office is Suite 15, 1666 High Street, Knowle, Solihull, England, B93 0LY. This is also our business contact address.

Information we collect

We collect information when you use the website or ask us to provide a service:

  • The website domain you submit for an AI report and the public website content we retrieve to create it
  • Your name, email address, phone number and message when you contact us or ask about a report
  • Your IP address, browser details, device information and basic request logs used for security and rate limiting
  • Information you send through the website chat
  • Public business information used in a report, which can include names, roles and photographs published on company websites or business data services
  • Page visits, referral information and conversion events if you allow analytics cookies

How we use it

We use this information to create and deliver reports, respond to enquiries, operate the website, protect it from abuse and understand which parts of the service people use. We also keep records needed to administer client work and meet our legal, accounting and security duties.

Our lawful bases

The lawful basis depends on why we are using the information:

  • Contract - when you ask us to provide a report, quote or service, including steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract
  • Legitimate interests - to answer business enquiries, run and secure the website, keep business records and improve our services, where those interests do not override your rights
  • Consent - for optional Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking; you can change this choice at any time
  • Legal obligation - where we need to keep or disclose information to comply with the law

AI reports and chat

We use OpenRouter to send report and chat requests to selected AI model providers. A request can include the website content, business information or chat text needed to produce the answer. OpenRouter and the selected provider process that information under their service terms. Their locations and retention periods can vary by provider, so please do not submit confidential personal information through a free report or website chat.

AI output can contain mistakes. Our free website reports are for information and discussion. We do not use them to make a decision about an individual that has a legal or similarly serious effect.

Cookies and similar technology

The site uses a small number of essential cookies:

  • Session and security cookies used for forms, CSRF protection and Cloudflare Turnstile
  • vu_report, which remembers the report you requested for seven days
  • vu_analytics_consent, which remembers your analytics choice for 180 days

If you allow analytics, we load Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking. Google may then set cookies and receive information about page visits, device and browser details, referral sources and completed enquiries. We do not load these tags until you choose “Allow analytics”.

Who we share information with

We use service providers to run the website and deliver the service. These include hosting and infrastructure providers, Cloudflare for security, OpenRouter and the selected AI model provider for AI requests, Google if analytics is allowed, and email delivery providers. We may also share information with professional advisers or authorities where the law requires it.

We do not sell personal information.

International transfers

Some providers process information outside the UK. Where UK data protection law treats that country as not providing an adequate level of protection, we use the relevant contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism.

How long we keep information

We keep information only while it is needed for the purpose described above, for a current client or enquiry, or for legal and security records. Completed website reports can be reused for the same domain for up to six months. The report cookie itself expires after seven days. We review older reports and source material for deletion when they are no longer needed to provide the report or keep a necessary business record.

Contact messages are kept in our business email and client records while the enquiry or relationship remains relevant. Security logs are rotated according to operational and incident-response needs. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, subject to any record we must keep by law.

Security

We use access controls, encrypted connections, server monitoring and limited staff access to protect the information we hold. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we review the controls around the website and the services it uses.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law gives you the right to ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or an objection to how we use it. You can also withdraw consent for optional analytics at any time. Some rights have legal limits.

Email phil@vu.co.uk to make a request. We may need to confirm your identity first.

Complaints

Please contact us first so we can look into the issue. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Children

This website is intended for business users and is not directed at children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will review it for deletion.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our services or use of personal information changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
